My Services

I am adept at all phases of small animal medicine and surgery. I can see both routine wellness and health problem appointments, triage and handle emergency cases, manage hospitalized cases, and perform routine and emergency soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures. Surgery is a particular interest of mine. In addition to routine procedures, I am comfortable performing procedures such as cranial cruciate ligament repair, correction of medially luxating patella, lateral ear canal resection, thyroidectomy, perineal urethrostomy, incisional gastropexy, pinning of long bone fractures, femoral head and neck excision, vulvoplasty, and amputation of digits or extremities, among others.

Another interest is diagnostic imaging. In the spring of 2008 I was fortunate to attend Sound Technology's week long ultrasound "camp" in Arlington, Texas, where I had the chance to completely immerse myself in diagnostic ultrasound. While the learning curve of performing diagnostic ultrasound is relatively steep, I have been able to diagnose hepatic and splenic masses, gall bladder mucocoeles, gall stones and cystic calculi, among others.

I am firmly committed to continuing education, and make an effort to attend as much continuing education as possible. For the 2013-2014 licensing period I attained 106 hours of continuing education and for the 2015-2016 licensing period I attained 126 hours of continuing education. For the 2017 to 2018 period I attended 114 hours of continuing education.  I am always eager to learn something new and to take on new challenges!.

I understand that you have worked hard to build a relationship with your clients and their pets. I will communicate promptly and thoroughly with you and with your clients so that care can be given seamlessly between doctors. I take pride in thoroughly writing up a medical record so that the case can be easily followed. I strive to continuously practice high quality medicine and surgery, and to be professional in my manner and dress at all times. I am accustomed to busy days and 15 minute appointments, and will stay on schedule even during the busiest of times.
